Lab Leak: The True Origins of Covid-19 – The White House
- deleted 1y ago[deleted]
- bediger4000 1y agoThe "Lab Leak Theory" actually used by Trump to construct a (probably false) narrative about why he's not to blame for his inept handling of the COVID epidemic. This was predicted. It also looks like Trump's using it to personally stigmatize Anthony Fauci and some other folks Trump thinks didn't back him up. This also includes some very objective falsehoods: if social distancing, masks, and the oddly termed "lockdowns" didn't have any effect, why did not influenza epidemic material during 2020-21 flu season, and why influenza clades B and 3c3.A have apparently gone extinct. I bet we see some violence against those named here, possibly some killings. This is irresponsible lying.
- PaulHoule 1y ago#5 is bogus. Frequently when some dangerous pathogen like Ebola or Marburg jumps to humans they can't identify the source animal despite trying. I don't think lab leak is ruled out but I don't think it is confirmed either.
- jeffbee 1y agoWeirdly, pandemic response was the one thing Trump didn't completely whiff.
- bediger4000 1y agoOnly funding the vaccine. Everything else was a disaster. You're possibly conflating post-2020 Biden admin response with 2020 Trump response.
- xnx 1y agoYes. Operation Warp Speed (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Warp_Speed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Warp_Speed) was great. Unclear to me if Trump had anything personally to do with that other than not opposing it.
- therealpygon 1y agoJust another reminder that even the CIA didn’t believe this lie, giving the likelihood its lowest possible rating (since it is nearly impossible to prove something didn’t happen and a lack of any verifiable sources).
