- bluthru 14y agoAirPlay requires a GPU that has hardware h.264 encoding. This is so there isn't a performance hit to compress and send video to the AppleTV. You can download AirParrot if you'd like the functionality to work with a small performance hit.
- mortenjorck 14y agoCan you at least send arbitrary video from apps to it, e.g. an h.264 video playing in Safari (as you would on iOS)?
- Synaesthesia 14y agoMust be using Intel Quick Sync technology
- bvlaar 14y agoMust be. I find it strange that my 2010 MBP can't use AirPlay when my iPhone 4 can work fine. Really hope someone comes out with a hack/mod to fool the OS into thinking I have the proper hardware.
- epaga 14y agoAwww man, that is a letdown. Airplay was the thing I was most looking forward to in Mountain Lion. I have a late 2010 MBP. :(
- agent86 14y agoYou might want to check out AirParrot (http://airparrot.com/ http://airparrot.com/). I haven't used it myself, but it seems like it might give you the functionality you are looking for.
