One should watch or read "The Terror"
- mrkpdl 2y agoYes, although the final episode was so harrowing that certain images are burned into my brain. To the point where I wish I hadn’t seen it!
- bdjsiqoocwk 2y agoAre you taking about this? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Terror_(TV_series) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Terror_(TV_series) Follow up question, why is it that in season 2 everyone is Japanese?
- jhbadger 2y agoIt's a completely unrelated story. The idea is it is like "American Horror Story" or "True Detective" where each season is a self-contained story.
- dghlsakjg 2y agoIt is a fantastic book, and a great miniseries adaptation. Just a note though, in the context of this conversation, it was written before much of the big discoveries of the ships, and other historical research came out, so it is largely speculative after last contact (obviously the supernatural elements are pure fiction)
- dharmon 2y agoI would also recommend The Arctic Grail as a good companion read. It covers the history of the British quests for the North Pole and the Northwest Passage, with the Franklin expedition being a significant part of that overall story. It also really drives home the point of how much the British love a good heroic failure!
