- izacus 2y agoThe article lists clearly that the exception doesn't appear for any app store, not just Google Play ones. It uses PackageManager APIs there.
- kuschku 2y agoFor any appstore explicitly allowlisted. Do you think Google will allowlist fdroid?
- Crosseye_Jack 2y agoThey are not blocking side loading, they are closing a loophole that prevented what Google deems "sensitive permissions" from being locked away behind a number of scare screens. It appears that you will still be able to grant those permissions for apps downloaded from outside the playstore, you will just have to jump though the same hoops you have to do today for apps that are not using the current loophole.
