Ask HN: How are companies releasing GPT-4 powered products so fast?
I am aware of the OpenAI GPT-4 beta testing program so many companies must be using the beta APIs. I still don't understand how so many companies have announced + launched full fledged production features powered by GPT-4. Are most of these just half baked features or is everyone banking on the OpenAI hype?

- mdmglr 4y agoIt’s been a few months now that ChatGPT was released. So I think it’s reasonable to assume in that time any small team could have developed features with the assumption those APIs would become available at a later date.

- neximo64 4y agoThey had access to gpt4 for a while. Its not suddenly.
- iamflimflam1 4y agoThe changes required to use the ChatGPT API that was released recently were very minimal. And to use the new models is just a single line change. So it’s very easy to switch over - if you have access. Good example code here: https://github.com/atomic14/command_line_chatgpt https://github.com/atomic14/command_line_chatgpt
