What happens in the next 100 years?
- immibis 4y agoWe increase the human population by another 100x in the never-ending quest to increase GDP, then we run out of resources and die. Dolphins become the most intelligent life on the planet.
- hardlianotion 4y agoWhat dolphins?
- spongeb00b 4y ago"Thanks for all the fish"
- notyourday 4y ago> We increase the human population by another 100x in the never-ending quest to increase GDP, then we run out of resources and die. As Musk likes to point out, Japan already has adult diapers outselling baby diapers. I don't think running out of resources is a risk.
- bluGill 4y agoPopulation is on track to peak and start declining around 2050
- immibis 4y agoThat trend is the one thing that may still save us, but don't worry, they'll find a way to prevent that, because a decreasing population also decreases GDP and the stock market, and we can't have that.
- pas 4y agonah. GDP growth can continue even with a fixed number of people. it'll just need more energy and more capital goods.
