I think that really depends on what social circles you run in.

  It does, totally. My comment is very much anecdata. As an example, I've noticed this to be very common in many scenes in Berlin, while in Germany as a whole iOS has a 45% market share. So, yes, definitely. However it does show a marked difference with the US which is common enough to be worth mentioning.
