Anyone have a link to the full article? I’d like to read why folks will presumably need to be audited for selling over 600$ on eBay and not having a reasonable way to itemize that.
- injb 4y agoIf you're saying that you're really being audited, I wouldn't post about it online (not legal advice, just my 2 cents).
- rhexs 4y agoNah, not being, just assuming many Americans will be as a Schedule C goes beyond what the average person can honestly do.
- anigbrowl 4y agoThis seems like poisoning the well. If you do over $600 of business on eBay and need to report it, you can just print out your transaction history. The actual article is a photo essay about the extremely antiquated document/data processing systems at the IRS and seems unlikely to address your particular concern. Taking a hyped-up edge case as a synecdoche for the system as a whole doesn't usually lead to a worthwhile discussion.
