No, I have yet to be contacted (or my lawyer, either). I don't know the machinations involved with mortgages, but it seems to me like I'd like that to have been the case.

  If you own property, open a HELIC on it, and invest the cash you have. Then if you urgently need the money, take it out of the HELOC.
