I passed through the gift shop inside Empire Sate Building in NY yesterday and 98% of the gifts are asian imported plastic trinkets branded with Empire State and USA logos. Contrasts that to when I visited the museums in Berlin where the shops mainly focused on selling locally produced crafts.
