I've stopped using PuTTY and now use MinTTY with the Ubuntu subsystem and the regular old Ubuntu SSH client. Specifically this thing: https://github.com/mintty/wsltty https://github.com/mintty/wsltty
It's real nice and even supports 24bit colour if you're into that.

- Raticide 10y agoThe default terminal was a bit limited for me, but I hear they're making big improvements to it in later builds.
- bubblethink 10y agoI tried that briefly too, and I couldn't launch screen. It seems to trigger some old bug in screen. How far is the WSL terminal from the usual fanfare (screen, tmux, proper colors in the terminal and text editors, and other edge cases for scrollback etc.) ?
