Not meant to refute the GP argument but, in the US at the federal level the AvGas tax per gallon and gasoline tax per gallon are about the same ~ $0.19. This is probably one of those areas where subsidies and such obfuscate the reality.

To expand on this... there are virtually zero intentional homicides at gun ranges and gun shows where hundreds of weapons are present. Also all gun laws are discriminatory toward the poor and minorities disproportionately.

To preface my comment, I think using Hunter's drug problem for political gain is tasteless. Despite that I find it abhorrent that Twitter is not allowing users to post the photo instead it is instantly causing accounts to get locked.
