Yeah totally, in theory it makes sense with a social app to consider as many platforms as possible. Though in practise I haven't seen it hurt social networks that start on iOS. Instagram is the obvious example. Keep in mind 700million

Interesting you've gone Android first. Can make sense if you have a good relationship with Google for a feature etc. But the downside is Apple will certainly use it as a reason to not promote your app in any new app features.
