I tried switching to Firefox so many times but have to go back to Chrome for performance reasons. There is still an open problem on Retina Macbooks with scaled resolution where the performance drops like 10x over non-scaled versions.

Just today, I had to resize the swap on a raspberry pi so composer could update the dependencies.

I guess not, since there is no single entity/company which holds 100.000 users. But I am 100% sure, our current government would never ever grasp the concept of a federated social network and probably just try to ban it.

I wonder what will happen if somebody motivates a lot of people to register on a site, to push them over the threshold. It may also be possible to split your forums to different sites / domains if you reach the thresold. Anyhow I can&#

The funny thing is, they have a threshold of 100.000 users that must be registered at the site. So a site like unzensuriert.at (like breitbart in the US) which is a right leaning / government favourable website will not fall under such

The standard in PHP-frameworks like Laravel is to automatically throw Exceptions when a Notice happens, which at first I thought was overly aggressive but I would never go back to writing PHP where a Notice is thrown and ignored.

I would argue that every user wants E2E, they just don't know (enough) about it. E2E should be the default.

I also use the "more space" setting. Haven't tried it with the normal scaling though.

I had the exact same experience as the grand parent comment. Seriously wanted to switch to Firefox after the browser-sign-in "feature" but the performance on my high-end 2018 macbook pro with 16gb ram was just abysmal (20 tabs ope

It was an unsafe shutdown, meaning I just pulled the plug. But it was at least several seconds after saving it. I've never seen behaviour like this before.

That one bit me really hard today. We're using hundreds of raspberry's as digital signage devices and before deploying them I checked a few of them and found out that sometimes the source files of the app were empty. After a lot o

As an artist with 250k streams myself, I don't really think that you should directly compare it to CD sales etc. If you compare it like this: a single play on a popular radio show can get you 250k listeners and you get payed well below

The "hard" part about styling buttons is making them look the same for <a>, <button>, <input>, which is solved like a million times. Your solution only addresses <div>, which is a accessibility nightmare.

I ran the original sample from vocabulary.com through the Ableton Equalizer with a low-cut and high-cut respectively and can't hear anything then a clear "Laurel" every time.

I can't hear "needle", no matter how much I concentrate on it. The is a clear S in there, also I can clearly hear it's two syllables - where do you guys hear the third?

Everything that can be modified by the user is not suitable. The price must be stored on the server side, everything on the client side is subject to modification.

That's exactly what annoys me about it. I liked those pages, so I choose to see the content. Their solution to put it into the "Explore"-Tab, mixed with content of Pages I didn't even like makes it worthless.

There is already some stiling on the page, it's just not fancy. And that extra 100 bytes to make it readable don't make a difference.

Maybe it's the Electro Harmonix KEY9. I own this one and you can play single notes and chords which sound like an electric piano / wurlitzer etc.
