Don't you find it painful having your tmux session rooted in your homedir (e.g. for all new windows)? I nearly always need to have it anchored some project working directory.

Mosh should survive a laptop sleep no problem - if it doesn't, something is misconfigured. X forwarding is a dealbreaker though.

I also have a tranche of quant folk on LinkedIn but I always assumed they were either selling snake oil or if the roles really were that lucrative, there’d be a work-life balance clash. But it’s not my field, so this is more a gut feeling.

IMO the best org phone client is a VPS + CLI emacs + good mobile SSH client + syncthing. Requires connectivity but then I have e.g. org-agenda feature parity. I basically live in this setup. Surprisingly ergonomic to use with a touchscreen

I can't agree. I type up something in Fira Code - I look at it - and I smile inadvertently. It's just another one of the small, pleasant aesthetic experiences that make up programming as a whole for me.

ah, you're right. thankfully it looks like 'drawer' (which i only found out about just now) fixes this and retains the spirit of the thing; fragtog doesn't render it immediately though (needs C-u C-u `org-latex-preview`)

Very similar experience - in the end no police, and I just had to stay back and write a long essay on why hacking is wrong (pretty sure I was an edgelord about it and wrote something nuanced about white-hatting...)
