The way I see it - Opus 4.8 xhigh can do any programming task with a programmer instructing it. If Apple releases local model together with a device that can run said model it would render OpenAI/Anthropic useless for vast majority of

I was waiting for 3 months for my VAT ID to arrive. Then I just called my finanzamt and told them why I have no vat ID. I think they just forgot, finanzamt said over the phone that "they opened a ticket" and 2 weeks later exactly

This is how these things usually play out. Unless OP was being difficult and defending his position that he did nothing wrong.

I think it does. MLM is multi-level-marketing and the shovel-selling exactly IS a pyramid scheme. You have to look more deeply into the scheme. It appears that they sell the SaaS, but what they are actually selling is the selling/refer

Firefox is great. Safari is also pretty good, Apple ADP is true e2e encrypted bookmarks, history and so on. I really do not see the reason to be using Chrome for multiple years now.

> you tell them that you won’t do that? Of course I will do that, I get paid for doing that. Most of the times I can convince that AI is not necessary by showing small PoC flow with AWS diagrams of data flows. This works well especially

As a contractor who built a lot of predictive systems and workflows in last three years I can tell you that quite often there is a specific request to put AI into it even when it is not needed and would objectively make the system worse, sl

The model is released to download. If they continue releasing it - it can't go same direction. If they stop releasing it, they will become irrelevant. The only reason this one is so popular is because you can just download it and run l

If they keep gatekeeping the SOTA models then who cares - not like you can use them anyway. So for general public the open models become the SOTA models sooner or later.

Right now there is no reason since tokens are subsidized heavily. However when OpenAI/Anthropic will drop the $200/month pricing since most likely it eventually will become unsustainable you'd rather get MacBook Pro M6 Ultra

The gamble is that you either succeed or fail. If you try nothing you'll work until you die regardless. Current system: Work until you die. New system collapses: Work until you die. New system lucks out: Probably get returns (pension).

The problem with this is that we do not know the actual cost. For all we know they might be pulling an Anthropic. Subsidizing costs to get users, then increasing them later on.

Wait for new GPT release this/next week and then decide based on benchmarks. That is what I will do. One main thing is to de-couple the repos from specific agents e.g. use .mcp.json instead of "claude plugins", use AGENTS.md
