I agree it should be an option for the children who are capable, but as I mentioned in another thread, I don't think the median child is capable... or they may be capable after far more effort from the institution than is acceptable. I

I'm shocked your son and his friends were using iMessage, even in the US. My teens are using Snapchat/IG/TikTok mostly for messaging. iMessage or SMS is exclusively how they communicate with their parents.

Yes, it's just a firehose, it doesn't curate or boost anything. I want interesting things to be surfaced. Twitter/X is still pretty good at this and it's why millions continue to use it.
