I once met a few developers through a friend of mine. My impression was that they had no passion for the job. Programming pays well if you're good at it. I think there are a lot of programmers who are just paying their bills.

I always make sure the work that's paying the bills is done, before I work on the side project. Other than that, I'll typically commit to 5 hours a week. Usually in 2 sessions.

It's not an iTunes replacement at all. I have an iPhone and buy apps through iTunes sometimes. This doesn't have that functionality (nor the syncing with the iPhone). Also, it has a bittorrent client built in... Why?

Fwiw, I'm a programmer and not attracted to artists. I think art is fine if you want to do it, but it can be hard to make a living that way. I also don't think going to college for art is a great idea, because that major doesn't help you

I also find 16:9 to be way more common than 16:10, such that all the high resolution 27" monitors I found were all 16:9!!! I prefer 16:10 fir the extra vertical space. More lines of code

For facebook, considering how often stuff is broken.. I Think perl or php would've done a fine job. For youtube, I think the pull is uploading / watching videos online, and it just doesn't have anything to do with the language they picked.
