Yeah, but this is about the Internet as a whole not just Gmail IMHO. You need more than that extension to block it then. I use Privacy Badger by the EFF. They block all kinds of tracking. Also using Firefox will prevent Browser fingerprinti

That's one of the reasons why I gave up smartphones. Radiation, addiction and 24/7 workweek were some of the others. When your phone is smarter than you something is wrong.

"Dystopic" [sic!] may lead to misunderstandings. Also the article above states that it isn't an actual word. You can't even pronounce it. People will only hear "this topic" or something like that.

Ideally you reduce the hours you are on call. Even though I'm just a writer most of the time I was forced to be available on Skype, Slack, Flock etc. all the time as a remote worker. Guess how that impacts creativity and productivity.

The Internet was originally created by Darpa to survive a nuclear war. I'm optimistic it will exist after climate disaster but we may be extinct then. AI will probably use it then. Who knows, maybe that's even the plan? ;->
