Lets not forget Ubisofts uPlay which was absolutely shambolic. Blizzard's / Activision launcher was alright though. It did the job but no where to the likes of Steam which is really feature rich.

Grafana Cloud have quite a nice free tier. If you use Alloy, you don't need any persistence locally. Everything just gets shipped off. Similar to the author, I want to run a minimalist monitoring setup and currently just use Glances. B

According to some benchmarking removing the storage filters offers a mild boost when compared to adding an exclusion and you don't have the benefit of some AV protection when other processes are accessing the volume like steam etc. ht

I'm on Windows 10 LTSC which will receive updates until 2032. You'll likely have to add stuff to the OS to install the Windows Store and UWP apps but otherwise regular apps just work.
