Keep up! These days the trend has changed. We have gone the other end now. "I work from 10am and start chilling out at 2pm and make much more money than before." (this is what they say, but not what they do)

I am surprised by this statement. I have used IKEA stuff for over 20 years, hardly anything is abysmal. Which region/country are you talking about? When you buy a mattress/bed, do you buy the lowest end? IKEA has good quality stu

> Some how firing/laying-off has been trivialised. Yup. Just like we have trivialized climate change, consumerism, mass wastage :-( Ah, capitalism. The devil is in the details.

it's reviled because nobody wants to learn yet another deployment tool. apt has been reliable enough for installing packages and good enough UX that people can't be bothered

The opening line says "Open source" , but they aren't. Source available is the correct term.

self hosting doesn't always mean opensource. could be people wanting to have control of their data. there are many closed source self hosting apps - emby, plex, confluence/jira, teamspeak, filerun to name a few.

Unpopular opinion: I find rust code unreadable. And I consider myself a polyglot. I am sure all those symbols have a special meaning but it's like perl to me. Just throw some random special characters and they all mean something.
