If I had to read code in all one color text I would go absolutely insane. Syntax highlighting has saved me from so many silly keyboard mistakes.

Wordpress requires a database, Jekyll does not. Jekyll is also much easier to maintain, with it's built in web server for testing, and static page generation, using a github repo is so simple it's stupid. Jekyll is the way to go.

I've only ever played WoW, but jacked up economy on servers wasn't fun. And I mean JACKED up. It does add an element of realism though, nothing comes for free in this world.
