We've got pretty good exposure and even some small investment through WebSummit, both directly and indirectly (people that saw us there and then met us somewhere else). Now, both have come from the pitch events. From my point of view a

On the other hand, I do have a couple of friends working in Google in the London office that, not only love that movie, but have incorporated some of the things in it in their teams :) I must say I haven't seen it myself, so I can'

To be honest, the same can be said for svg images without the need to load a css file (4KB minified) plus a font file (55-230KB). Specially taking into account that most places will use only a few of these icons.

As an old-ish developer that has gone through the google process twice, my problem with them is not the kind of questions they ask, it's the length of the process. I don't know anyone working in Google that hasn't gone throug

Then put 58 as the age. If the average stay for an employee in SV is 2 years it means that you still get a worker with amazing experience for the average workers stay. You come out on top. Even more, let's assume that this person doesn

The plans described are a good start, but what I think we need is more a mentality change than anything else. Starting a tech company in Europe is, usually, easy enough. The paperwork is more complex and expensive than in the US, but easy e

He has a few very, very interesting articles. I would point out the following two: - How not to sort by average ranking ( http://www.evanmiller.org/how-not-to-sort-by-average-rating.... ) is a recommended read on coursera

Kind of what I was going to say... The article seems to blame the tools, but there are more secure ways of using these same tools.

Be careful with this, I come from a country where someone below 18 can't be indicted for a crime. Regardless of the crime. There has been cases of 17-year-old minors raping and killing that went completely free (or spent a few months i

My experience with the WebSummit is that it's valuable IF you participate in the pitch competition. If not, you can get a lot of value at the evening/night events. Some of the talks are also very interesting and gives you the chan

Hey, this time I catched this early. When running VirtualBox I see no big difference on battery drain, at least nothing that can't be attributed to extra workload. I think that the last version of Parallels I used was 6, so I can'

Didn't see this until today, but yeah, that's exactly what I meant. I don't use boot camp very often, but when I do the battery gets drained faster and the laptop gets hot to the point where you have to be careful not to touc

Sure, but if you are developing for Windows or your toolset runs exclusively on it a Lenovo laptop might give you better mileage than running parallels/VirtualBox or BootCamp on a mac. But apart from that, yep, I'm quite happy wit
