It seems that way - I read this [1] which does a high level comparison of the technologies. It does seem like BPG is patent encumbered by the underlying H265 algorithms (aka HEVC) [2] [1] https://www.zyxtech.org/2019/06

I remember many years ago getting a random phone call from someone who claimed they were a detective investigating a case. The detective sensed my skepticism right away over the phone and suggested that I look up the phone number for his po

My personal take: my two 27" 4K LG monitors run GREAT here. I like the extremely small vertical bezels on both of them (one is a 144Hz and the other is a 60Hz). Connectors are fine. The monitors don't move at all, so build quality

Greg Whitten still lives in the area and brings one of his Ferraris to the Microsoft charity car show every year (last time it was a LaFerrari!). I hope that happens again this year.

I might be a bit stranger - I swap back and forth between a Windows desktop PC and an M1 MBP with the same dual 27" 4K displays (both LG, one is a 144Hz and the other is a 60Hz panel). Eventually I'll retire the desktop PC in favo

I wanted to comment on how useful that demo was to me. It did a great job at demonstrating why this is useful and how well it works compared to the native browser implementation. Thank you both for the demo and for the project!

Thanks for creating Snipd! I like the Obsidian integration and the triple-tap on AirPods Pro feature to capture a snippet. I'll definitely check it out. While I would imagine this is challenging - what about Audible support? I might ju

Thanks for the tool recommendations! While much of the content that I consume via audio is from podcasts, quite a bit is also from Audible (and arguably the more valuable as I don't read that much fiction on Audible). Is there a workfl

I'd like to talk about the format that James uses for his book summary. What do others here think about this format? It's simple and to the point. As I think through some recent books that I've listened to as audiobooks, I&#x

I have a MX loaner while my MS is in the shop. It's telling (and I'm thankful for) that they didn't update the loaner to v11. Lots of hate on this TMC thread on v11 [1] [1] https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/
