event driven development should be avoided whenever possible. coroutines exist for a reason. Writing event-driven applications is very prone to errors and invalid(impossible) states.

The fact that efreedom results are showing up in the results is irritating by itself. We all know efreedom is spam, and so does Google. Now I am always on alert when clicking on a link in the results to avoid the spam pages like efreedom, e

Agreed. The article's title deliberately said Google, as if the other engines are doing a better job.

I'd also like to point out that Stack Overflow's database is available to the public under the creative commons license. Quora's database is not.

this blog is sketchy, flooded with ads and obviously trying to drive traffic to it. Why not just post the github link?

It really depends on what kind of software development job you are looking for. I believe writing a web server will teach you a lot. You'll learn more about the HTTP protocol and you'll learn/master socket programming.

It is obvious that this link is just to bring more traffic to tuaw.com. This is becoming ridiculous on HN.

This is exactly what mark zuckerberg did. [sarcasm] IMHO, you invalidate an idea after you implement it and see the user's reactions. Before then, you cannot know if it will succeed or not.

I submitted stk8.co few days ago but it barely got the attention. stk8.co allows you to stack several Links or Text and share them under one shortened url. It embeds a preview of the link for common services like youtube, vimeo, amazon, cnn

IMHO, websites should include a single js file. In development you can have 100 js files, but in production these should be combined into a single file. The downside is that you might include things you don't need in all pages, but that's n

It is equivalent to going to a media site that uses the like button, where it shows your friends who liked the page. But we are still debating on whether to keep it or not because it significantly increases the time it takes to load a page.
