The money doesn't come from search quality, it comes from selling ads and Apple is a long way away from building up ad inventory and an ad salesforce like Google's. They absolutely are making money on ads today, but they're a

I agree with your first statement but per the data on aggregate miles travelled I disagree there's actually a demand increase. Ultimately the Fed can't control either supply or demand directly but they try to indirectly control de

Gas prices are significantly higher than 2019, total vehicle miles travelled are about the same ( https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M12MTVUSM227NFWA ) so there must be a reduction in supply or just straight price gougin

Per other commenters less money in the economy reduces aggregate demand. Per previous inflationary periods where interest rates were raised basically by putting people out of work.

It's an unexpected result that shortages of core consumer goods - specifically gas and food - cause a rise in prices due to demand but this has become more decoupled from underlying input costs thus... high corporate profits in these a

Sure. Garmin is still $5B in sales annually. Which is peanuts next to the iPhone, so you wonder why they even bother going after it. AirPods are a bigger business than that.

Most people in the groups you mention probably already own a dedicated emergency locator device. AAPL may very well take a lot of their business, but maybe not. An inReach is going to survive a much bigger fall than an iPhone.

Note that in the US SAR services are not always free and if you have an inReach or similar device you probably also need supplementary SAR insurance. It's cheap, but you still need it.

This raises BOM costs and has significant operating costs. How many users are likely to continue to pay for this service once the two years are up? It's a great feature but it's far from a guaranteed money maker. This could just a

They mostly rely on income from their labour, which makes them some strata of middle class. A law firm partner who doesn't do any work could be upper class, but those new law school grads are definitely not upper class.

For new car dealerships I think the reason is mostly just historical precedent but much like how movie theater owners make their money by selling popcorn and all the ticket sales go back to the studio, car dealerships make their real money
