Users are not prioritized, obscene wealth is (usually for founders, and less so for employees). What do investors want: warm fuzzies or cold, hard cash? Follow the incentives.

Seriously. Humans managed to send a robot to a rock hurtling through the universe, and then took pieces back to look at. And it feels so normal! This is awesome stuff.

Respectfully, version control is not necessarily easy, and even with other versioning tools (they already exist, and some purport to be easier than git), you still have to think about what you're trying to do. I see this attitude a lot
