Reasonable discussion of this would be fine. 90% of comments being snarky and adding absolutely nothing to the topic is not.

Since when have comments become so obnoxious on HN? A very large portion of the population willingly and happily uses Google products. These new tools make it easier to remove unwanted data about yourself from search. That's a good thi

The market share of firefox is so low and there are already a ton of popular websites that don't work on firefox. Mozilla will very much be forced to follow along here.

It's not only tests, a rollback because your pdf generation has a bug will also mean rolling back for example a customer facing new API, slowing down the API team until the monolith is fixed or the change reverted and rebuilt.

Portable Generators are a thing and a hell of a lot cheaper than a car. Buy one and stock gasoline for an emergency and you are fine.

My experience with chatgpt is that it is essentially a misinformation generator. It manages to bullshit with incredible confidence.

That's not at all what I got from this. Ipv4 security guidelines do not look much different. TLdr: be aware of the differences and prefer ipv6-only instead of dual stack if you can, to reduce complexity.

Nothing prevents you from using a self signed cert. It adds security for local deployments as well because you either trust the local CA or your browser tells you that someone has owned your network

I don't actually think they're true. One second of Google cloud TPU has roughly the same number of floating point operations then 4 hours of raspberry pi 4B time. So 3 minutes of cloud TPU time already covers your whole month of r

Is this not false? The plasma is so incredibly thin that it would cool down immediately the moment it touches the walls. Afaik the heat generated here is mostly due to neutron bombardment and not because of the plasma.

From my experience, both Android, Linux and Windows consistently fail to use the faster 5ghz WiFi when starting out on the 2.4ghz. That's why I still have two separate SSIDs at home.
