I'd like to see a AGPL+linking exception (LGPL) license personally. Though I think license proliferation is generally good and people are free to choose the license they want for their particular works.

Good flash atleast goes readonly (Sandisk USBs in my experience), bad flash, not so much. The controller is probably playing a part as well.

I think this is about securing data/keys (AES, TLS, TPM..) vs securing code (Secure Boot, TEEs..). Neither is really a threat to software freedom as I see it, as long as it's user controlled or can be rendered effectively inactive

I miss read a bit when replying in the other comment, for 4 side-by-side 80 column windows, you'd need to bring the font size to 9, which isn't as comfortable as 14 for me in my side-by-side setup, but then 1.25x is also an option

Yep, 27" 4k at 1.5x (plasma) I can have 50/50 or 60/40 with font size 14 and get 110+ characters, not just 80. 60/40 would be for an IDE with a bar or two on the side and still get almost 110 columns in the editor/c

You can cast doubt on TPM/SecureBoot implementations with evidence, but it very much is real security controlled by the user with mokutil. We need more of this kind of security, that's controller by the user, if we're ever go
