Absolutely drives me nuts that I can't remove the music icon from the systray in Mac. And ditto on all the spotlight issues. Also, why does it take 10 seconds for activity monitor to show information? The list goes on. If only Mac har

500 manually driven cars and 500 robocars take the same space. Building schools, cities, and communities in the US that are pedestrian based is the only real solution. The author summarizes as "We need to thicken up our places, slow

You don't need a non biased website to tell you that. Goods costing %25 more affects the low income folks way more. Think about it this way, eggs go from $3 to $10. Someone with high income is barely affected. If you make min wage a

Are the developers on Chrome or Safari not anonymous to you as well? Or basically every piece of software that you did not author yourself?

I still prefer to shield my domain and inboxes. Probably a silly exercise, but I like knowing that no one can spam my true inbox or domain as its never given out.

The example by the author is an unsafe one. You think putting unsafe sharp curves at the bottom of hills for cars is acceptable? Your example is good, and the matching example of a bike lane is the opposite of what was shown in the article

Yeah, that's why we have raised crosswalks and stop signs everywhere that a pedestrian has to interact with a car. Or that we have safe and separated bike lanes instead of paint to keep cyclists safe, right? Do you really think a pedes

Go look into the design standards used in The Netherlands. https://international.fhwa.dot.gov/pubs/pl18004/chap03.cfm gives a decent overview of some of those things. They are much better for end users because so

Yeah, that's why when pedestrians have to cross where cars are that there is always a stop sign to make sure their high speed won't harm a pedestrian /sarcasm.

Imagine if you were talking about a road doing this for no reason. The engineers care about how fast you can go in a car around town, not bikes. You can't argue bike lanes get the same amount of care/effort as roads.

Yeah, that's why we put sharp turns at the bottom of roads too. It is selfish to only think about the driver coming from the hill. The driver that thinks it is okay to drive 45mph in that situation. Do you see the irony of your stateme

AI or LLM? If this is for LLM, then what does "responsibly" making up facts really mean or change? I would argue LLMs are irresponsible by nature of them having no context for what is fact or fiction.

The vast majority of people never leave the area they are raised, much less their country, either due to economics or culture. There will always be a need for software like this as long as the world has these restrictions.

Adding 3000 buses won't do anything if they don't also add bus priority lanes and lights. Otherwise they just sit in traffic and at red lights like everyone else.

With graphene, you can just run the regular google camera app and disable it's network permissions. I can't comment on your question about the graphene camera app.

They don't look like a bus, so im sure it won't be hard. My pessimistic take is that a city in the US will briefly prioritize public transit over private vehicles and learn nothing from it.

I have found Wayland (±sway) handles this really well once configured. Even when I switch my laptop between two different external monitors at two different physical work locations. What WM or DM were you using?

As a non legal person, what good is the 14th amendment then? It seems like it could be abused to no end where the ruling party could ban their opposition or a non supreme majority could fail to ban an arguably dangerous candidate? In the 2n
