Getting older, I can see the draw though. Good pay, good benefits, easy work. Something to be said about that. I'd just have to numb myself with opiates or something in order to stay calm, non-confrontational and mediocre.

Id try to look for a place to work that is more product oriented. I went another route and worked a lot with startups, but then you wont really find .NET very much.

I think hes talking mostly about the folk song tradition. If you look in both blues/folk there are a lot of songs that are very similar, with almost interchangeable lyrics by many different artists. The song Little Sadie is one example

I cringe every time I have to read the MSDN documentation. When you really need it, it barely goes into detail to explain what a class/method/parameter does, how to use it, or give any useful code examples. Its just a false sense

This happened to me at Citrix. I had to bring in more ram to put in the computer because it was just unbearable to run Visual Studio. Some places don't give a crap, you just throw more people at the problem.
