Work on what interests you. My grandpa lived and breathed medicine and researched the intestines for like 60 years. There’s thousands just like him.

> Cheap plastic. Interesting. On the WP website it says they use acetate from Italy which is usually differentiated from "plastic" in eyewear categories. Expensive plastic if you will. https://ca.warbyparker.com/

I bet the idea is to use the deposits to fund margin lending to offer 3% interest rate. I remember the rate was like $10/m for $2000 margin which is 6% per year. If it’s funding margin lending would it count as empty brokerage account

It’s a lovely idea to design spaces for interaction, but I think there could be something said for quiet and privacy too. We probably need a balance. I believe loneliness is an epidemic. I felt lonely recently for the first time. I’m mid 20

Puerto Rico is attractive to US traders because if you live there for six months out of the year you pay zero capital gains tax. On the other hand programmers still have to pay income tax so are more likely to seek inexpensive tourist desti

They do. All the time. Traders move to Puerto Rico and programmers move to Thailand. It’s even better because you get the first $100k tax free as employee, or approx 14% off if self employed.

It sounds like ESW is buying companies where the creative work was finished years ago. The policy appears to be freezing innovation and cutting costs to profit from existing contracts. I suspect the goal is not longevity. It’s also uncertai

I certainly don’t want hateful media in my news feed. In my proposed solution nothing stops you from posting hate speech but it’s one button to filter all hate speech on the receiving end. I would suspect that hate speech gets fantastic eng

I see some parallels with “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” Facebook doesn’t share awful hate speech, people share awful hate speech. Half of us will be like “not enough, take away Facebook” and the other half will be like “some

I actually enjoy the Instagram ads in my feed. It's usually quirky Kickstarter products like iPhone camera swivels, or magnets that keep your shirt tucked in, or a new brand of chef knives. Pretty fun seeing all the gadgets and ideas.

Spectacles was a flop. Snap Map was a flop. Discover as a separate section leaves much to be desired (Daily Mail thanks for the consistent cleavage /s). Instagram ate stories and interactive filters. It’s been over for a while now.
