This is where I stand. I think corporations have assassinated whistleblowers in the past, maybe even the very recent past, but I don't see what they stand to gain here unless they were just sending a message to everyone else.

I would recommend you read Tiny Habits by Dr BJ Fogg. A lot of people recommend Atomic Habits but I will go against the grain and say I don't think Atomic Habits is a good book and Tiny Habits is a much better read.

At my company we have seen a massive increase in bot traffic since LLMs have become mainstream. Blocking known OpenAI and Anthropic crawlers has decreased traffic somewhat so I agree with your theory.

I use easy to remember plain text passwords for services that are low risk. It's a spectrum. I'm not concerned about someone hacking into my Hacker News account for example but I am very concerned about someone breaching my bank.
