If you view advertising as subversive and dishonest, then yes, advertising to smart people is less effective. Not all advertising is dishonest, and instead informative. Hopefully the new media technologies will let this type of advertising

The problem I want to solve isn't unique to me, and the cat bowl is easy enough to hide from ants (it sits on a plate of shallow water). I simply hate the idea of chemical warfare to combat ants.

You might be right, but I think it's wrong to dismiss it just because it's hard to explain. Sometimes great new technologies are difficult because there is less to compare it to.

I mostly agree with you, but I don't think an increase in cpu size will slow the pace down much; it will just shift the cpu load to the server side.
