I did some testing using http://yellowlab.tools/ http://yellowlab.tools/ to find the slow parts of http://www.clarkeology.com/blog/ http://www.clarkeology.com/blog/ and I'm pleased with the results so far. Ditching jquery was quite a big win. Having no content to speak of makes it fast too...
