I can't even imagine how expensive consumables for an HP branded printer will be! Mind you, there's a lot of room for innovation in this space. I just don't see HP as being positioned to really expand the technology in any meaningful way.

One of the things HP is bringing to the table is very wide print bars, e.g. a whole "page" can be printed in one pass.
