It is possible, see how rivetsjs did that years ago. But it is still a very nice thing to drop IE8.
- Touche 12y agoIf Microsoft no longer supports IE8, why should web developers?
- coldtea 12y agoBecause web developers make money from targeting IE8 users (depending on the browser demographics of their client), whereas Microsoft does not.
- girvo 12y agoBecause it makes up 10 percent of the user base in my country.
- freyr 12y agoAnd as long as we insist on catering to them, they won't be compelled to install a modern browser.
- girvo 12y agoYou're preaching to the choir, but try convincing my boss and the company that owns our agency; it's too large a user-base to ignore, and we do some stuff for the government so we don't have much of a choice.
- nilsbunger 12y agoMsft still supports IE8 on windows 7 and various server os's. As much as I would like to see it die it remains in a bunch of corporate environments with ms support.
