Thanks for posting this. That's what i was expecting. Does any of that really improve my day? Nope. In fact most of it makes it worse and adds friction. More cogs turning in different directions. Will keep our devops stuff on CentOS 6.5 for at least another 4 years...

Will keep our devops stuff on CentOS 6.5 for at least another 4 years... What if someone needs one of the newer packages provided by RHEL7?

  What if I don't? Most of our stuff is on JVMs apart from SVN/DAV/apache/LDAP and that's a 40 min job to get packages ready for from srpms from scratch. We just have our own repo and import stuff that isn't in the distro repo ourselves. FreeBSD looking like a good option in the future.
