Ask HN: Launching Early VS Completed Product

I wanted to hear your opinions on the matter. Personally I prefer to launch a product as an MVP to test the market and the need for the product. I want to know if you think a completed, feature packed product will have a more successful launch? Taking into consideration the caveats, of course. What's your stance, the former or the latter?
