I'm currently reading this book and it's really helped me understand my speech impediment and the traits I have as a result of it - http://www.amazon.com/Out-With-It-Stuttering-Helped/dp/1451676581 http://www.amazon.com/Out-With-It-Stuttering-Helped/dp/14516.... Sometimes I substitute simple words for more complex synonyms simply because it's easier for me to say.
