Probably a dumb question but it seems as if the thermostat is dumb. Ie all it is is an interface to the hardware. If your Internet/wifi is spotty (very common)

Probably a dumb question but it seems as if the thermostat is dumb. Ie all it is is an interface to the hardware. If your Internet/wifi is spotty (very common)... Does your thermostat not work? Are you stuck being hot or cold?
