Itoya Xenons (http://www.amazon.com/Xenon-Retractable-Rollerball-Pen--Lava/dp/B000GOWF12 http://www.amazon.com/Xenon-Retractable-Rollerball-Pen--Lava...) has the best grip I've used. Not picky about paper but I tend to use index cards a lot.
