If you get a laptop with mostly Intel (especially gpu) components it is pretty much guaranteed that any major Linux distribution will work out of the box just fine. The thing with preinstalled GNU/Linux is the same with preinstalled Windows: abysmal configuration. Even Dell fked up with their xps13 linux thing.
