"Robin Hood" seems to be a misnomer for this service.
The character Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor. In contrast robinhood.io encourages every-day folks to compete against the elites in the stock market. Which explains why elite capitalists are funding the robinhood.io venture.

Do you really think if you pay a few bucks a month for something like Netflix, they just decide "well we've already got this guy's 7.99, there's really no need to make any use of his data for additional gains".
- winstonx 13y agoYou are pointing out that the converse of my statement isn't necessarily true. I agree with you: if you are paying for something, you might still be a product.
