- user24 13y agoI seriously recommend you read on on the Gutenberg bible. It's arguable that without it we wouldn't have printed books, or wouldn't have had them until much much later. It was the "killer app" of the printed word. Think of the information dissemination that became possible because of this, the increase in human empowerment and knowledge. It's an incredibly important artefact of our collective history and culture.
