Yep, because it's impossible that non-US governments are individually idiots, everything is controlled by the NSA. 12 years ago I was backpacking in Australia/NZ with my girlfriend. Upon landing in Auckland we were subjected to about 30 min questioning. From I heard, it was pretty common at the time. I doubt the NSA had anything to do with it (and it wasn't that big of a deal anyway, if you handled it like an adult).
