Exactly. With small children in the house this is a good thing. I use them in torch style lamps to save energy and not break when tipped over. With incandescent bulbs I was also concerned with electric shock from broken bulb, cuts and burns... though I wonder if the LED bulb would be a fire hazard if it were to rest on something.
