  Then they'll have to let me know and get a warrant. Two key aspects crucial to a functioning democracy. Two things they wont have to do if you have your data in a US-controlled cloud. Possible point of interest: I don't live in the US.

      I don't know how things work where you live, but let me say again: I don't live in the US. If anyone wants to come to my house and take a look at my server, I will know. Unless the global internet-police suddenly gained magical fairy-powers. Hosting your own OwnCloud is 10000000% more secure than relying on third parties, things like Dropbox, where people can go behind your back.

        You come home from work one day and find that your server is gone. I guess you'll know, I have to grant that.
