Thinking of that George Orwell quote from 1984: “You had to live - did live, from habit that became instinct - in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every moment scrutinized.”
Perhaps even in darkness!
- mcintyre1994 13y agoWhy use telescreens to watch people when you can just monitor the methods they use to communicate what they're doing? Seems like a pretty reasonable comparison in a way.
