oDesk does something similar, but something I like about their approach, is that they include the message in the email. There is a "Click to reply" button, but you can just reply to the email and it will reply to the message. Only benefit I noticed to actually using the oDesk interface to reply, is that any blank lines in your email response is omitted, while doing it in the oDesk interface keeps your formatting.
